“I met my wife at a Star Trek convention. She was study abroad from France and spoke little English, and I didn’t know a lick of French. So, for the first few months of our relationship, we communicated by speaking Klingon.”—
“While they were shooting, J.J. Abrams invited me to lunch and invited me to come to the set. I was so excited. The surprise he had going was that the young woman playing Uhura didn’t know I was coming. She just gasped.
As J.J. had planned it, she didn’t have to shoot, so we sat for two hours and talked, and it was as though I had known her all her life. I was so honored. I thought I was seeing myself — I knew I was in good hands. She just picked my brain.
When I see her come on, that’s me and I’m living it. A little ways into the movie, I realized she had taken to heart what I said and became more reserved and tighter. I’m so proud of her. She took a role that was established and gave it life.
Now I know who I was before I got on that ship for that first mission. It’s so exciting for me and rewarding. J.J. and she did me honor.”—
Nichelle Nichols about Zoe Saldana playing Uhura in the reboot (x)(x)
Name: Cassie and Magda Shepherd, usually im iffy on first names of deceased people but I remember reading somewhere it’s a Jewish tradition? Cassie was pretty much family and Magda was their maternal grandmother so it felt appropriate. If I’m wrong, please correct me!
Gender: both female
General Appearance: fuck they’d be gorgeous wouldn’t they? They’d keep their parents coloring. Both silver hair, Magda has brown eyes, while Cassie has one brown one green because fuck it Im in charge and I have a thing for heterochromia. Feel like they’d be tall. One wears their hair short, while the other likes to keep it long.
Personality: Fucking manipulators. They’ve got some of the strongest people in the world eating out of their hands. They bat their eyes and the world kneels before them. Still, they’re good kids. Spoiled, but they’ve got a strong sense of right and wrong and just as stubborn as Billy. Sassy, proud, but with fair amount of respect for authority. Imagine they’re the type of sisters who could be giggle and telling each other secrets one moment, than trying to rip each other’s hair out the next.
Special Talents: Reality warpers, one or both. Though I kind of want to say they’d have a unquie power that they share, but that’s just because I kind of want to continue the Maximoff family pattern of twos.
Who they like better: Depends. Tommy’s the fun dad that lets them get away with more things. But he’s also the one who flips out the worst when they actually manage it. But Billy’s more comfortable discussing pretty much anything but he also nags a lot.
Who they take after more: Think one would take after one more than the other, but not something that you would really notice.
Personal Head canon: The first time they went out superheroing, Tommy and Billy flipped a shit. Not because they were against them doing it, but because they were like eight at the time and had “magiked” themselves to appear older so the adults wouldn’t stop them.
